On this page you'll find more information about the writer beyond this blogging horizon.
Hello and welcome to my little corner of this great big universe! My name is Martha, and I am a cat-loving book-enthusiast who is striving to bring glory and honor to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is the One Who gave me my love for writing in the first place. He is the reason for any good in me. I have been saved by grace through faith, and that is not of myself, but it is a gift of God; not as a result of works, lest I (or anyone) should boast (in reference to Ephesians 2:8-9).
I am an aspiring writer who loves to wind my way through plots, make up new characters, and look up name meanings. I almost constantly have more works-in-progress than stories I actually work on diligently. My literary works include a variety of genres, but all of them have one thing in common: I try my best to write things that the Lord would be pleased with. I enjoy medieval fantasy (minus any magic), kingdom adventure, realistic fiction, some historical fiction, mysteries, clean Christian romance, adventure, good sci-fi, well-written dystopian, and a few biographies (like that of Helen Keller and Laura Ingalls Wilder). In a nutshell, pretty much any genre but horror and most thrillers. I have recently taken up an interest in writing children's books.
A few random things that make me very happy are Bible verses, Christmas lights, roses, chocolate, new books, ultra-fancy cakes, wonderful friends, babies, kittens, Christmas trees, good photography, interesting and intelligent conversations, hearing that someone else has been encouraged by something I wrote, and wreaths. And that's just a few.
A few little-known, random facts about me include:
-I love popping bubble wrap.
-I sleep with socks on in every season–even summer.
-I randomly laugh at things in books.
-I am a softie when it comes to characters who go through character development and turn out to be nice.
-I firmly believe that Golden Retrievers are the best breed of dog! (Though I do like other breeds, too.)
-I prefer big(ger) dogs in general.
-I tend to get creative food ideas, and they usually flop when I try them out. Either that, or they don't measure up to the standards I set for myself.
-I enjoy cake decorating.
-I don't like seaweed.
-I do not, in any circumstance, prefer the color combination of olive green & burnt orange.
-I sometimes randomly start speaking as if I'm in a Jane Austen novel.
-I am known as a rather dramatic human being.
I hope that you will be blessed by the things you see on this blog, and that they would inspire or amuse you as intended. Thanks so much for stopping by!
With sincerest regards,
